The designs of Chiel Kuijl are inspired by rhizome growth, a biological principle in which organisms come into existence from a nucleation phase with strands, which again exists from different strands and so on. This idea led to several immense architectural projects, in which networks are constructed over land, sea, in the air and true nature. As a result Chiel designed a series of functional objects like hammocks, couches, tree houses and stairs using the same technique.
