Big Green Egg
The Big Green Egg design is based on an Asian clay kiln that is over 3,000 years old called ‘kamado‘. In the past century, US servicemen stationed in Japan tasted the tasty and juicy dishes cooked in this distinctive clay pot and brought it back to the United States so they could enjoy the delicious food prepared in it.
Big Green Egg opened its doors in 1974 in Atlanta (Georgia, USA), this made it possible for people from all over the country to enjoy this Asian gem. At first, the company imported Japanese and Chinese ‘kamados’. However, as time went by, they created the perfect model.
For more than 25 years, each Big Green Egg has been manufactured in Mexico’s high-tech production facilities. The factory only employs professionals specialized in working ceramics at high temperatures
